About Me

Hannah Notess

I’m a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based writer, editor, and technical product manager. My favorite thing to write is poetry, but I also enjoy digging into a deeply reported story or fleshing out the technical details of an app user experience. I wrote my first poem in the eighth grade and haven’t stopped since. I attended Indiana University, earned an MFA in Creative Writing, helped edit Indiana Review, studied with the poets Maura Stanton, Ross Gay, and Maurice Manning, and the essayist Scott Russell Sanders, among others. I have worked as the editor of Seattle Pacific University‘s Response magazine. Later, I switched careers into the tech world, and worked in technical support and as a product manager at WordPress.com VIP and Camber Creative.
